KENYA AIRWAYS | FLIGHT AND AIRLINE REVIEW
I was so excited to fly with Kenya Airways as I hadn’t flown with them before and I knew they were a popular choice among travellers travelling to East Africa. Flight prices from Nairobi to Mombasa via the Kenya Airways website were proving to be more expensive, so I decided to book through Booking.com as I had found the cheapest tickets there.
The tickets cost us £400 for three people including luggage, which was o.k. We actually saw it cheaper, but the prices changed before we could purchase. Jambojet was also cheaper, but they were requesting additional costs for luggage, so our tickets worked out fine for us.
We went ahead and booked our connecting flight, but on the morning of our flight, Air France had rescheduled our flight to Nairobi, so this meant we would miss this flight.
We called Booking.com, and rescheduled our flight to later that afternoon, which cost us an additional £111. (Which we are in the middle of claiming back through Air France) – everything was up in the air.
TIME TO FLY
It was finally time to fly and we were delayed by an hour. We waited at our gates and Kenya Airways quickly informed us of the cafeteria which was available for us to get some snacks for the short delay. We were offered a choice of cakes, croissants and some water or juice. It was a kind gesture for an hour delay, unlike Air France.
2nd Attempt to Board…
It was finally time to board with Kenya Airways (again) and we were more than ready. The flight took off smoothly and we crossed over safely to Nairobi with no problems and a smooth landing. Our flight took a little less than an hour, perhaps 40 mins, and during that time we were also given snacks and water to drink, which we weren’t expecting but truly appreciated. The passengers clapped as we landed safely in Nairobi.
Overall, Kenya Airways exceeded my expectations. I was eager to travel with them, and now I’m happy I did. I would most definitely use them again as I look forward to returning to Kenya.
