MY FIRST TIME FLYING WITH KLM | EXCLUSIVE REVIEW
After a stressful few mishaps and cancellations with Air France, we looked forward to flying with KLM. We had flown with a number of airlines before, but had never tried KLM due to prices. To my knowledge, KLM flights have always been quite expensive. I checked Expedia flights, Skyskanner flights, and flights on Booking.com religiously, but when the prices were against me, I had to make sure I explored all options.
I finally found the perfect deal with KLM. I gasped in awe and snapped it up!
It was unfortunate that the flight with KLM was not departing from London to Kenya, but only returning from Nairobi to Amsterdam. (Save the best til last, I guess!) Our return plane tickets cost us around £2800 for three people, which was a bargain due to the time we were travelling. (late December)
Onboard Services and Experience
It was finally time to board our flight back to Amsterdam and we were seated. Shortly after we were offered hot and cold drinks. I requested a cup of coffee as I finished off my delicious beef sandwich I bought from the airport. Shortly after, it was dinner time, and I opted for the chicken meal since I just had a beef.
My chicken dish was O.K, not fantastic, but edible. It came with butternut squash, mashed potatoes, and broccoli, accompanied with a coconut dessert, a feta salad and two drinks. The meal was definitely filling, and a great balance of protein, cards and veggies. My son hates plane food, so he skipped dinner but we were pleasantly surprised when the airhostess approached us…

HAPPY SWEET 16!
The airhostess brought a handwritten birthday card, a stroopwaffle (which he quickly gobbled up before I could take the photo), some apple juice, and even a birthday cake for my son, and I think I was more chuffed than him! The thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and sheer surprise was enough to make us book with KLM again.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, we were also given a vegetarian puff pastry before dinner, as a snack that was filling in itself! KLM really didn’t scrimp on the meals, they were extremely accommodating.

They had standard headphones, in-flight wifi, up to date movies, and clean blankets. The customer service and attention to detail was above and beyond. My first impressions of KLM is that they are very professional, and I would definitely recommend them.
The staff was very friendly, the plane was cleaned well, and the flight was smooth. Although I’m all about budgeting, I’d definitely spend a little extra to fly with KLM again, whom I felt safe and comfortable with. Even the KLM booking system was easy to use.
(By the way, this is NOT a sponsored post – just my genuine thoughts and feelings on this airline.)
