Cotton Candy Skies… in London

A Colourful Sky in the Capital

I’m not sure what day of the week it was, all I remember was that I was on my way to work. I stopped to pull out my camera as I was in complete awe with the beauty of the pink skies. This natural, beautiful and unfiltered photo is proof that you don’t have to take a 24 hour flight, halfway across the globe to experience pure visual bliss with those cotton candy skies.

In my case, they were right ahead of me on this chilly winter morning, 7.30am to be exact, whilst I took my little one to school. I decided against driving as I wanted to walk and explore a little. So after my walk, I headed to the tube station and continued my journey to work. And this is what I encountered today ~ These Cotton Candy Skies.

I’m often tired of being in my home town of London, and I’m always looking for the next cheapest flight to jet out- however, I was grateful to have experienced seeing such beautiful colours in the sky in such a cold and wet place. Who says cotton candy skies are only for tropical places? I’m learning to appreciate what I have, where I am, at the very moment.

Pinks Skies are Everywhere!

What i’ve noticed over the years, is that you can really witness the most beautiful sunrises, and pink skies from almost anywhere. Wake up early, and even better try heading to a park or open space where you can capture the most breathtaking views of the sunrise. This was my view on my way to work.

There’s really something special, and calming, and therapeutic about pink skies. Even on a cold winter’s day. If you’ve missed the opportunity to capture the sunrise, you might be lucky enough to catch a sunset just as beautiful.

Who said you needed palm trees, white sands, and a plane ticket to experience the most luscious, pink, and marshmallowy skies? I’ve noticed the best times to see the sunrises are between 5.30 am – 7.00 am, and they’re even better in the Autumn or Winter.

Have you visited the Capital of England? Why not book a upbeat city trip to London. December is magical. Take a stroll down central London’s Oxford, Regent, or Carnaby Street, or even take a bus down to Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus.

Though London is a busy and bustlin’ city, there is so much to do, both alone and with the children.
